Models for our internal and external world
Internationally exhibiting artist Tracey Snelling has an incredible eye and the uncanny ability to recreate a world and make us feel like we are experiencing it for the first time. Influenced by film, landscape, books, and architecture, Tracey’s works are models of corner shops, apartment buildings and city streets. She captures the mood of each of these through smells, light, color and sound. She then photographs these models and suddenly you can't tell whether you're looking at something real or created. A tension ensues, an excitement at the magical transformation from reality to fantasy. These sculptures, models for our internal and external worlds, invite us into a new reality. Tracey Snelling explores these fantastic and theatrical moments in this interview.
