Writing with Images
Eric Drooker's paintings are seen on covers of the New Yorker, The Progressive, The Village Voice and numerous other magazines, as well as books and music albums (Rage Against the Machine). They have also covered the streets of New York and the Bay Area. He is the author of Flood! A Novel in Pictures, Street Posters & Ballads, Blood Song: A Silent Ballad, and collaborated with poet Allen Ginsberg in Illuminated Poems. He gives slide lectures at schools and cultural centers worldwide. Eric is a third generation New Yorker, born and raised on Manhattan Island. But he has now succumbed to the beauty of the west and lives in Berkeley, California. Blood Song tells the story, through image, of a young girl's travails as she is forced out of her pristine homeland and moves to the city where she makes another kind of home for herself.
