The Night Air

The Night Air

The Night Air is a weekly show on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Each week, the producers choose a theme, pick some of their favorite pieces appropriate to it, and then remix each piece using their signature eclectic sensibilities. The Night Air first came to the attention of The [Un]Observed via Radiolab's Jad Abumrad, who named the Australian program as one of his favorite international theme-based shows. Given our own interest in curating diverse, experimental radio pieces, The [Un]Observed has taken considerable inspiration from The Night Air. We are pleased to present The Collector's Edition of the show here, including pieces detailing the history of LSD, a visit to sound artists in a San Francisco gallery, and a backdrop of local found sound. Works by: Tania Ketenjian, Dean Champ, Fiona Negrin, and Annalise Friend. To hear one of the pieces prior to The Night Air's mixing, please visit Shopdropping or Blow Up.
